Moving Toward a Permanent Church Building

After 10 years as an independent congregation, with the prayers and cooperation of all church members, GPIB CINERE has acquired a 700 square meter land which will be the location for the permanent GPIB CINERE church building. With the acquiring of the land, the congregation is in the process of obtaining the building permit from the government, while simultaneously raising funds for the building process.

A MESSAGE FROM GPIB CINERE CONGREGATION

Greetings of Peace from the Lord Jesus Christ

With the grace of God, after ten years, the GPIB Cinere congregation has been institutionalized to become an independent congregation, eager to build a permanent church building.

Over time, the number of church members continue to increase, in addition to the need for facilities and infrastructure to support the increase in services. The existing facilities are becoming a limitation, therefore efforts to build a church building continue to be struggled with prayers and empowerment of the potential of the congregation and parties outside the congregation who are willing to take part in the planned construction of the church building.

The Congregation Council and all members of the congregation through the Church Construction Committee invited the brothers to participate in the construction of the GPIB CINERE church building.

Prayers, attention and assistance from you will be a joy for us to do this development work. We believe and believe God uses and involves all of you to become a channel of blessing for us. In this hope and belief we keep praying and trying, so that God’s will will happen,

“For it is that the Lord commands blessings, life for ever” (Psalm 133: 3b).

FOREWORD CHAIRMAN GENERAL ASSEMBLY SYNODE

Praise and thanksgiving we offer to the glory of the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

GPIB Cinere, Depok, is an integral part of the GPIB family instituted on 13 June, 2010 as the 299th Congregation of GPIB. Until now, the Cinere congregation worship in a shophouse within the Cinere area, and for this reason, the Cinere congregation seeks to have its own permanent place of worship.

The existence of a church building for a congregation has a ritual meaning and at the same time has social and actual implications because the essence of the church building is to strengthen spiritual appreciation in relation to God and appreciation of its responsibility in social relations in the middle of daily life in the family and society.

The construction process of the GPIB church building for the congregation in Cinere is carried out by the Development Committee which was formed based on the GPIB Synod Council Decree. All of this is of course based on prayer and full confidence in God’s help and care for this plan.

The GPIB Synod Council certainly welcomes and supports the implementation of this noble work. We join in praying that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, will be pleased with this building process and will also share His blessings on everything needed for the construction of a church building.

To this end, the Synod Council also urges and invites all parties, both individuals and institutions to support the construction of the GPIB church building in the Cinere Congregation, Depok, through prayers and also funds so that this development can be realized. God bless us all.

Soli Deo Gloria.
